The Women In My Bones

The Women In My Bones

Close your eyes for a second and think about the women who came before you.
Your mother. Your grandmother. Your great-grandmother. The ones whose names you know, and the ones lost to time.

What did they endure? What did they sacrifice? What fire did they carry that they weren’t allowed to let burn? What silence did they live in because speaking wasn’t safe? What strength did they summon just to survive?

Now open your eyes and realize:
You carry all of it.
Their fire. Their trauma. Their resilience. Their expectations. Their dreams they never got to live. Their patterns they never got to break.

Your cultural heritage isn’t just the beautiful parts—the food, the music, the traditions. It’s also the weight. The “we don’t talk about that.” The “this is how we’ve always done it.” The invisible rules about how to be a woman, a wife, a mother.

And here’s the question that’s driving this episode:
How do you honor the women who made you without becoming them? How do you carry their wisdom without carrying their wounds? How do you pass down your heritage to your children without passing down the parts that hurt?

In this [episode], I’m getting real about:
∙The ancestral women in MY bones—who they were, what they carried, what they gave me
∙How my cultural heritage is both my roots and my cage
∙The patterns I’m noticing in myself that didn’t start with me
∙What “universe empowerment” means when you connect to something bigger than yourself
∙The fire my ancestors had to bank—and the fire I’m choosing to let burn
∙What I’m teaching my daughter about our heritage vs. what I’m choosing to break

This is about conversion—the ongoing work of taking what was given to you and choosing what you carry forward.
It’s about recognizing that you’re not starting from scratch. You’re part of an ancient line of survivors, warriors, mothers, daughters who did the best they could with what they had.

And now it’s your turn.
Your turn to heal what they couldn’t. Your turn to speak what they couldn’t. Your turn to choose what they couldn’t. Your turn to become the ancestor your descendants will be proud of.
This is [Episode 21] of The GIRL Pursuit, and it’s about the women in our bones.
Because you’re not alone in this. You never were.
The women who came before you? They’re with you. Rooting for you. Hoping you’ll do what they couldn’t.
So, let’s honor them. Let’s release what doesn’t serve. And let’s build something new on the foundation they gave us.
